Heat products, masks, brushes and all that jazz

If you have been using any heated tool on your hair , a heat protectant product is a must! you should be reaching for it and applying before heat. Heated tools will suck the moisture from your hair. would you apply foundation without a base ? Never!! with waves a plenty still a major trend and especially come summer.

LETS TALK HAIR BRUSHES

I don’t know anyone who does not already have a Tangle Teezer in their possession if you do not please get one. They are a saviour to prevent breakage especially when hair is wet. Your hairbrush is the foundation for the health of your hair.

A wide tooth comb is what you want for detangling especially in the shower, comb through your conditioner or mask.

Great for detangling..

Fine tooth comb is great for styling your fringe or to separate and smooth hair. TIP: get one that is matt not shiny,  a comb with a shine will not give you the grip on the hair.

Vented brush creates volume these brushes have holes or slits through the back. A great brush when looking to create volume.

Have a look at the guide above

Colour trends you are going to see everywhere this summer…

Why do you build me up buttercup baby..

BUTTER BLONDE- Warm hue with splashed of honey yellow the sunniest colour and you can opt for this colour with highlights.

If you fancy blonde but no the maintenance, opt for a rooty.. Darkness at the crown allows colour to grow pretty much fuss free.

CARAMEL KISSED – toffee toned hair is always a chicken dinner somewhere between blonde and brunette there is caramel goodness. Flattering on all complexions

HALO HIGHLIGHTS- Brighten up your complexion by adding some clever colour placement around the face . Defo a face framing highlight of sunny kisses.

CANDY FLOSS- The sweetest colour that is on trend and semi- permanent. The best of both worlds and summer is the time to play around with pastels.

If you are changing hair colour or going lighter and adding highlights keep in mind to up your treatments , masks and conditioner aimed at protecting and maintaining your colour.

We have a range available so ask your colourist what they recommend and you will have glossy hair all summer long.

You are not basic so, why should your brunette be…

Ash Brown hair colour is chic with an edge , it is an amazing way to update your hair colour.

It is a cool, deep tone without traces of red or gold. This hair colour pops on those who have blue or green eyes. Brown hair does not have to be boring!

Medium ash brown is ideal for cool, medium skin tones with pink undertones. Medium ash brown has the tints of green and blue underneath that come with ash.

Looking for an edgy colour change from your brown or blonde hair then this is worth a mention at your next visit to the salon.

The Stunning Victoria Secret model Elsa Hosk rocking the 70’s vibe hairstyle all about the layers.

Razor sharp cut worn to the side this is a great cut if you are looking to take the bulk out of thick hair.

If your hair is naturally curly then this S/S embrace it.. If you have not worn it natural in years then take insp from TOWIE beauty Chloe Lewis.

Tip: invest in a diffuser

Wispy Fringe this is an easy way to update a style and it is very flattering on most.

New hair same you..

I smell a colour update so, Christmas is way behind us we can now embrace lighter shade steps on our future visits to the salon. Especially as the weather warms up.

Brunettes can go richer from darker hues to lighter hues. Brunettes can be smooched by the sun as well.

Platinum – still a firm favourite but you have got to protect your hair to maintain shine instead of  dull hair with this colour.

Sun smooched blonde- The colour thats like your back from a tropical beach and not behind a desk.

Natural- Let there be roots , even the colour you were born with . I myself have been going this route thanks to Michelle and I am loving the results as Balayage gives you the best of both worlds.

Just some visual inspo should you girls need any

Valentines Hair

Planning on heading out this Valentines straight from work or planning on hitting the town the weekend and need some hair inspo? Then scroll on down..

Whether it is to meet your friends or a loved one we are more than happy to give you some help with your already glamselves.

This looks more technical than it is I promise.. if you have shorter hair you can add some small bun rings but this once hair is in a middle parting just twist back at the side and you can either pin a few clips to hold or use a gogo 🙂 Yes, I still call them by this name.. to then twist hair into bun at nape of neck depending on hair length.

Low or high ponytail this is great on already curled hair with added texture can pull out loose strands for that just took me two mins look we all love or add in a braid at the side.

Or wear like Kylie, Sleek and high to the sky. This look entails some products to stop fly away strands.

Top knot or high bun is an easy peasy and can be just as versatile as a ponytail. Slap on some red lippy and your good to go.

Barely there braid is an easy and flattering look.

Textured waves give me all the feels.

Sleek blow-dryed hair whether long or short this is fables set with a spritz of hairspray.

NOW GO OUT AND BE CUTE..

I DO, I do to a texture hairdo..

Spring is coming with sun showers and blossoms.

For you Spring/Summer Bride to be’s we are loving the textured styles. We are all about textured hair in general why not for your wedding day.

The movement and Texture is so elegant and adding a hair detail just sets it off and a few loose strands at the front to frame the face.

Whether a class chignon, add some texture.

A low textured style with some twists to add movement and another beautiful detail to the side that could be worn after you remove the veil.

If you choose a low back wedding dress this just finishes it off beautifully.

I love this style full of movement and a touch of boho with texture that shows off her lights.

I hope this gives any brides to be some inspo for their wedding day, just think texture, movement, with beautiful details and all you have left is to say is

I DO ….

Grammys be stylin…

The Grammys where Musicians and stars bring their eccentricness and flamboyant style. I love to see each year what they have in store for us.

This year the hair was higher , Lady Gaga was the first to walk the red carpet and WOW! Lady G loves to surprise us her laced pulled back hairstyle just shows her love for expressing herself through fashion.

Stars wore white roses in support of the #TimesUp movement.

As artists we can appreciate the glitz and brave styles they wear.

Jenny Mc Carthy “Girl” Blue is your colour I think this was just a tint through her hair and no a permanent fixture but still..

Rihanna Big Hair don’t care

Camila Cabello wore Vivienne Westwood Couture High fashion Glamour. Havana, ooh-na-na..

Lana Del Ray had a perfectly placed Halo to accentuate her embellished Gucci Gown.

Some of our faves from this years Grammys from Madison Square garden in NY.

From bold to basic

Woke up with no time or patience to do your hair we have all had those days! Meh!!

By using your fingers to place back into a low bun this adds a soft look , love how the lights pop here.

A low and loose ponytail during the week, even air dry the hair to give it a break from heat styling as in the winter our tresses are exposed more to elements and the aircon in shops and at work.

Love this midi Bun with texture on add some styling product to the hair and backcomb the pony part before pinning up around the head will add volume.

Ponytails may the easiest style around, here is some inspo for switching it up.. The trend seen on the catwalk and on the streets may not be for everyone mind you ‘but’ I adore it and adding the ribbon tre pretty. Again using your fingers instead of a brush to pin back and bonus it is off your face.

if you have longer length hair this braided ponytail and twisted under is another easy style on the go.

Adore the twisted bun with a headscarf all wrapped up in a bow.

I love a messy bun, you know casual, took me a second kind of bun. If you have finer hair use some texture spray to add some grit to the hair.

Keep it modern go for a style that is simple for you give it a try they are surprisingly super-chic.

xx

Show your Face..

What it is about a fringe? and what is it about a Micro-fringe?

From the hairstyles rocking on the red carpet I smell a trend for 2018 coming back our way.. Adds eternally cool to your hair look, it may be something to look out for.

Emma Watson has just debuted her micro fringe on her IG and it is nothing short of Dotey.

Feathery, choppy, this is bang on trend and only for the brave. That being said there is always a fringe that suits every face shape.

This look will take a bit of maintenance , bear this in mind that if your a get up and go person in the morning this may not be for you but there is a few styles you can opt for depending on face shape.

The micro fringe is a bold of the fringe fam ! So always start longer if you go straight to the short cut there is no going back! You can always go shorter once your stylist has finished styling your hair.
